Calypso Classic was imported from Germany and passed AWHA colt classfication in August 1994. His impeccable pedigree combines some of the best performance blood lines in Europe. His sire, Calypso II, was the product of an incredibly consistent union between Cor De La Bryere and Tabelle, a match which produced five licensed colts in five years. His dam carries the lines of Ferdinand and Absatz, producers of brilliant showjumpers and dressage horses respectively. A modern type medium frame warmblood combing elegance with great presence and superb movement. In his first season in dressage competition with Glennis Barry in 1995 he was undefeated, confirming his excellent rideability. He went on to win the NSW Novice and Elementary state championships and was National Novice champion. His progeny show his good looks and movement.
