Casting is intelligent and sensitive. He relishes his work and engages with his rider. He is light in the mouth, balanced and has an energetic, ground-covering canter, perfect for producing top quality showjumpers. He is equally balanced and even in trot and walk, and will also produce eventers and show horses of quality. He is a careful jumper, sharp and neat over a fence with a consistency that comes with willingness, enthusiasm and athleticism.
Casting placed 3rd in his stallion licence test with 10 for character, 9.5 for willingness to work, and 8.5 for jumping ability.
Breeding: His sire, Cotoki, is leaving his mark. He hit the jumping stage as a young horse: Reserve Bundeschampion at 5, 4th in the 6 year old Final before commencing an international career with regular wins and places in World Cups, Nations Cups and Grand Prix all over Europe. Cotoki combines the two great Holstein bloodlines of Caletto I, one of Cor de Bryere’s most influential sons, and Capitol I. He is from Stamm 4705 which has produced many approved stallions as well as international winners in all disciplines. Catoki is sire of Carrico CSI 5* and international star Catch Me If You Can, as well as over 20 approved stallions.
1st Dam: Virginia – already producer of 4 licenced stallions. Contesini (Contendro I) won his stallion test in 2013, with the highest score for jumping and 8 for dressage.
2nd Dam: Magic Lady II – dam of Captain Fire, sire of 8 approved sons; sister to Charakter and half sister to stallions Colorido (Casado) and Corifieo (Contendro I).
Progeny: Casting was highly sought after in Europe, covering over 100 mares before his arrival in Australia. His progeny are modern and elegant, with a Holsteiner premier foal from a Quite Easy mare. His first Australian progeny are due in 2018.
