Akebono combines the Holsteiner bloodlines of Falkland and Flaneur with the Hanoverian bloodlines of Aachen and Domherr. These four imported sires have had enormous influence on warmblood breeding in Australia with Flaneur being listed as a foundation stallion for the Holsteiner breed in Australia. In addition his pedigree contains horses such as Argentinus who is a very successful sire of international dressage and showjumping performance horses. Akebono's sire Aachimedes is a successful sire of many dressage horses in Australia with his progeny being represented on state squads.
