Cabdula du Tillard is by the legendary Trakenher stallion Abdullah, who is considered one of the best performers of the century. He was Individual Silver medallist at the 1984 Olympic Games; World Cup Champion at Berlin in 1985 and leading horse at the 1986 World Championships. Abdullah is by Donawind by the famous Pregel, out of Abiza, the dam of three approved stallions. He is sire of numerous horses in international show jumping in the USA, like Elfin Magic, Home by Dark, Gabriel, Aschenbrodel, Siegwesta, Kindlhop, and Savage Winter among others. His dam Quanagra, by the world renowned Galoubet A, out of Tanagra (by Furioso by Precipitation) is also the dam of Viking Du Tillard and Baladin Du Tillard. She is closely related to the immortal Jalisco B - one of France’s most successful performers and a competitor at the Seoul Olympic Games. Jalisco B was a sensation at stud, siring Quidam de Revel, Quito de Baussy, Olisco, Papillon Rouge and Qualisco.
Cabdula is a good clean jumper. In the four year old class of the French ‘classic cycle’, he had two clean rounds in the final at Fontainebleau and went on to the five year old final, again producing a fault free jumping round. Competing in the six year old final, Cabdula had no rails down at any of the qualifying shows.
He was sixth in a world cup qualifier Grand Prix in December 1999 in Mechelen (Belgium) and sixth in the final of the Stallions World Championship in Bordeaux in February 2000. He won an international Grand Prix in Alencon (France) and has 26th international places in 1999.
In the year 2000 he won the small Grand Prix in Paris and one big class in Nevendorf (Switzerland) and he has already over 15 international ribbons. Cabdula has now won or placed 112 times at international level. In this year at 10 years of age he was ranked 3rd internationally with 33 victories and placing in Grand Prix. In 2001 he won two Grand Prix in the Rome and Dublin CSIO’s. In 2001 at 11 years of age he won two Grand Prix in the Rome and Dublin CSIO’s. In 2002 Cabdula was ranked in the top ten French stallions, only for his own performances, but for the performances of his progeny.
Foals of Cabdula du Tillard have generally the same outline as their sire with a nice looking head and long neck. They have, for almost all of them, very good balance and very good character. Their legs are very correct and straight. His youngsters are noted to possess good trots and excellent canters with very nice necks and powerful backs over fences.
When his eldest progeny began competition at 4 years of age, out of the 32 progeny born to Cabdula du Tillard at that time, 17 were competing in France and between 7 and 9 qualified for the final in Fontainbleau in September 2000. This is a very high percentage since less then 20% of the competing 4 year olds enter the final! In the same year Iman du Rozel sold in 2000 for a record price for a 4 year old.
In 2001 nine of Cabdula’s progeny competed at the Grand Semaine, the finals of the famed classic cycle for young jumping horses. One of them, Idyle du Thot won the 5 year old class. In 2002 Cabdula was graded 11th of the stallions in France on the basis of his progeny, not bad for a stallion with progeny of such a young age.
