Damiro is a son of Ramiro Z out of an Alme Z mare. All the top European jumping blood is combined in this outstanding stallion. The combination of French & German breeding is very much sought after in Europe and produces exceptional jumping horses. The unsurpassed Holsteiner G Ramiro Z has influenced the breeding of showjumpers all over Europe. In the Netherlands his offspring have taken him to ninth place in the jumping index and he himself jumped very successfully. Damiro’s dam is ‘ster’ Torette, daughter of H. Alme Z, the great show jumper producer of this century, is known through amongst others, Galoubet, I Love You and through his approved son Jalisco B. She comes from one of the first and thus oldest riding horse lines in the Netherlands to concentrate on the production of show jumpers. Grandmother of Damiro, Notre Dam has five licensed sons, one of them being Carrington.
Damiro was 1988 Champion of his year with five high scores of 9s and two 8.5s. Damiro jumps very carefully and skilfully with a good lift-off, a sound technique and an excellent eye for a stride. This bay stallion took first place in the A category jumping of the 1989/90 National Stallion Competition. In 1992 Damiro made his international debut with several good placings, such as a second and fifth place at JIM, a third place at Indoor Friesland, a third place at the Grand Prix of Weert and three clear rounds at Berlin. In 1994 he won the Stallion Jumping Competition in Hertogenbosch. He won the Championships in Leiden 1995 and was 2nd in the Championship in Lise. In Bordeaux he won over the Two Fence Course with jumping over 2 metre. He did very well in competition in Eindhoven, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Calgary and Geneva. Damiro obtained 7th place on the index with 142 points.
His first crop of foals in1990 were particularly praised. They were noted as well-developed and of notable riding type. They have excellent legs with solid joints and they show outstanding movements, particularly their superior trot. Already four of his sons have been accepted as stallions in Holland; Hilton, sold to Italy, Ids, Douwe and Le Byou P. At the colt representation the sons of Damiro scored very well. Some of the 4, 5 and 6 year old offspring are starting to appear, showing that Damiro has been able to pass on his qualities. At 4, 5 and 6 year competition we see Mr Itt, Jamiro and Kimberly making great impact. His progeny is starting to prove themselves in both dressage and jumping, and they have inherited their father’s good character and easiness of ride. For example Broere’s Karmijm under Liseon Kamper who competes in dressage Class ZZ and Harvey who competes in Spain. In jumping, some of his offspring were highly paced. Mr Itt as a nine year old was the winner of Malmo in December 1999. Loro Piana Jamiro, Ishan, and Isadora are all doing well. Kolette, Don Kimble, and Jumping Jewel are all jumping at national level. At the NBVR Championship in 1999, Jalisco gained 3rd place in the ZZ jumping. At the Levade Championship in 1999 at Ermelo, second place was won by Offichems Kameraad in ZZ jumping. At the international competition at Meppel in 1999 first place was taken by Kensington B. Damiro is a true son of the legendary Ramiro Z.
