Sire Wagner is a product of the combination of Wendekreis, with a broodmare sired by Gotthard, which often proved successful. Wagner left many gifted show jumping horses. Besides Wanderer, the grey sires Weinheim and Windsurfer are well known. Wanderer’s maternal line is originated in one of the best of the Hanoverian population.Wanderer is one of the great Hanoverian sires and renowned for producing horses with outstanding jumping talent. Starting his career at the Oberndorf stallion station, Wanderer had no problem in establishing himself in the Hanoverian breed. His sons Wanderbursch 1 & 11, Wandergesell, Wanderkonig, Falkland and many more are listed in his ‘record of approved sons’. Among his daughters Wanderbursch’s full sister Welina and the state premium mare Wunderschone, class winner of the Ratje-Niebuhr-Show stand out from their fellow broodmares. In the show jumping his special ambassadors are Wait and See and Walesca. A son was champion 4 year old Jumper at Dobrock in 1996, and his daughter placed second in the Championship for mare Jumpers in the 4 and 6 year old classes.
Wanderer is pre-potent for siring jumping talent. He produces energetic, expressive, athletic horses that are willing to work. Six sons of Wanderer are standing at the German State Stud Celle. Wanderer has 29 licensed sons, 45 state premium mares, 213 main stud book mares and 37 auction horses. He is a great improver in jumping. His progeny have won DM 898,874.00.
