Jet Set D was North Holland Champion foal and he soon developed into a really top-class stallion. He completed his performance test in Ermelo as the best all-rounder in many years and was particularly appreciated for his temperament and athletic action. He was one of the most striking stallions to appear in the dressage ring during the testing. He was given 7 scores of 9 in movement and two scores of 7.5 in jumping. This was what was said in the evaluation at the test: ‘Jet Set D is a royally developed, true riding-type, long-lined stallion that shows a lot of nobility and confidence. He has an honest, reliable and steady temperament and is a very willing worker. The walk is active and roomy. He has a plentiful and powerful trot in which he displays a lot of presence. His canter shows good scope and elevation.’ Jet Set D is eager to learn and has remarkably skilful action in front. He gives the rider a great feeling and is a highly talented dressage horse. He is a pleasant ride over fences, with a powerful jump, skilful technique and good use of the back. Jet Set D clearly has a lot of potential. He shows ample talent to great talent as a show jumping horse. He won the A-Show jumping in s’Hertogenbosch in 1995/96 ridden by Faan Pompen and herewith became champion of the stallion competition. In 1998/99 he formed an impressive combination with his rider Nathalie Smeets and won 4 of the competitions, his highest score being 73%. Jet Set D is at the moment Prix St George ridden by Susanne de Klein. One of his foals Oxiet, was Champion foal at the colt selection 1996 and Champion of Champions at Arnhem. During the pre-selections in Ermelo in 1998 Oxiet was conspicuously present, especially his spectacular movements. His offspring have all done well in testing circuits. Two daughters (Jet Set D x Elcaro) and (Jet Set D x Able Albert) reached the final rounds at the mare testing in Ermelo. His son Jet Stream W has been approved by the N.R.P.S. During the pre-judging selections of the stallion testing in 1998/99, 5 of the 13 sons entered received a referral to Den Bosch, and 6 were designated as “star”. In 1999/2000 3 sons were referred to Den Bosch for the second selection. His offspring are all long lined, have well formed heads and move well. His foals are well developed, uniform riding offspring who all trot easily and well. In 2000 Mrs A (x Ferro) was awarded first place in the Pavo Cup selection in Utrecht and the filly Thelma (x Hemmingway) was awarded the first place at the Havikerwaard Foal Promotion Prize. In the group 4-5 year mares with foals at foot Otina (x Variant) was first in Veghel. At the Central Keuring, Navratilova (x Rivaal) was awarded first place in the Pavo selection for 5 y olds. In the final she was 6th. At the 2001 Dressage Championships in Ermelo Navratilova was Reserve Champion. In the World Championship for young dressage horses in Verden two of his offspring were selected. The sons Jet Stream and Orlando were accepted by the NRPS. In the pre-selection for stallions in 2001/2002 one of his sons was accepted for the second inspection. At the pre-selections of the stallion show 2002/03 a son (x Cocktail) was selected for the 2nd phase of inspections in Den Bosch. At the stallion selection in Den Bosch 2003 the very good moving Troubadour was selected for the third testing. Another son, On Top, is very successful at Prix St George level. Another son Jeff is very successful. Here in Australia Pasa Doble has had good success, Champion of the 6 yo at Dressage With the Stars. In the Stallion Selection 2005/06 Winstoni (MV Contango) was selected for the second inspection in Den Bosch. Zirkoon, Jet Set D’s sire, (170cm) was also born at De Daelmehorst. After a very successful performance test (4th place) Zirkoon grew into a first class dressage horse.
