We breed international quality show jumping horses in Australia using the best bloodlines available worldwide. Although our emphasis is on show jumping, our young stock show the movement and temperament that will suit them for the other Olympic disciplines. There are currently several Oaks Sport Horses making their way through the eventing grades and in the dressage rings as well as show jumping.

Genetics and Development - Nature and Nurture.

We breed with elite mares, all of which have strong performance backgrounds. Our mares are imported European Warmbloods with jumping pedigrees, or are by or out of parents with generations of reliable elite performers behind them. Our mares have also been selected for their conformation and temperament, and many have completed at top levels themselves. We also have a successful embryo transfer program to enable us to breed foals from out current competition mares.

We compliment the traits of our quality mares by selecting the best producing sires from Australia and overseas, and use both chilled and frozen semen. The stallions used in the Oaks Sport Horses breeding program can be viewed on our Sires pages.

Physical and character development are as important as genetics to ensure that each young horse can achieve its potential. Astute horsemanship and experience enable our team to handle, nurture and train our young horses so they can receive the best possible foundations for their development. All aspects of our horses' wellbeing, from their first farrier visit, to our large, horse-safe paddocks, are taken into consideration to provide the best environment possible to raise young horses.
