Jazz is an outstanding breeding stallion and has now been given the Preferent predicate. Many of his offspring are performing at Grand Prix level and he is on the top of the dressage stallion breeding index. Jazz is by the world renowned stallion Cocktail. Jazz was the only stallion to score as high as 9.5 for trot in Ermelo.  His other scores were: walk 8, canter 8.5, rideability 9, trainability 9, and stable behaviour 9. Jazz represents Purioso and Nimmerdor blood.

Jazz was introduced to sporting events by Tineke Bartels in the Prix St George in 1999 and was successful with many wins. In 2001, Jazz and Tineke made their entrance into Grand Prix level. In Amsterdam he came first in jumping and he also won the Grand Prix World Cup in Amsterdam 2001 with 74.65%. In 2002 during the ‘Zwollse Paardendagen’ he achieved 3rd place in the category of ‘Best Stallion’. He was Indoor Champion at the NBVR and competed in the World Games in Jerez. He is now ridden by Kirsten Beckers and was twice winner in CHIO Rotterdam and also at Kootwijk 2005 with 72.78%. In 2006 he was second at CHIO Hickstead in the ‘kur to music’ with 75.10%, at Arnhem int GP 74.55% 3rd, and at Roosendaal Nat. winner GP 72.71%.

Out of the first foal report it shows that Jazz passes on his abilities resulting in a uniform collection of riding type foals with tremendous quality. They have a lot of scope, brilliant elevation of the forehand and spectacular movements. They showed quality in walking and trotting in particular and all show good stance, tact, and respect.  Many of his foals were placed high at the regional inspection and many were sold overseas already for record prices.

In 1999 he was in the equestrian press characterised as “The year of Jazz”. A foal by Jazz x Ariban was the winner at the Arnhem Championships. Eight of his sons were referred to Den Bosch for the 1998/99 stallion inspections. A Dutch Champion at the Pavo Cup was by Jazz (Jazz x Ulft).  Another daughter became Dutch national champion as a 3 yo. (Jazz x Triton). A three year old mare (Jazz x Wolfgang) became runner up for jumping in Ermelo in 1998. One of Jazz’s sons (Jazz x Romadour 11) passed the national German test. At the VSN/FSP in Ermelo in 1999/2000 Jazz had 10 of his offspring in the finals. At the pre-selection for stallion licensing 1999/2000 five sons were sent to Den Bosch. In the 2000/2001 Cup Final in Ermelo he was the stallion with the most foals in the finals. Patser, a 4 yo son of Jazz was Champion. At the World Championship for young dressage horses in Verden two of Jazz’s offspring were selected. In the meantime Jazz has four accepted sons in the KWPN, Norway, Olivi, Riant and in Germany Jazz Time. He makes excellent combinations with all kinds of mares and his offspring is sold for record prices. In January 2002 he was accepted in the Oldenburg Studbook. At the pre-selection for the stallion show 2002/03 there were 4 sons sent through to the second selection phase in ‘s Hertogenbosch. At the Pavo Cup Finals 2003 Robin Hood by Jazz x Zep won with 81 points, defeating Roselma by Jazz x Fruhling who scored 80 points. For the pre-selection of stallions 2003/2004, 6 sons were promoted to go to the second selection in Den Bosch. Jazz is father of many accepted stallions by the KWPN and he is increasingly stronger in the mare lines. He passes on his sport and breeding qualities to his offspring and this shows out every time his progeny competes. Jazz has a breeding index of 173 points with 95% accuracy. He is at the top of the dressage stallion index.
